Live Nation is plowing forward with its post-Ticketmaster plans, a new phase for the live concert giant.  This morning, the company disclosed a partnership with CTS Eventim, a global ticketing technology platform.  Live Nation signaled an exclusive North American pact, and deals within the United Kingdom and Europe.  "Eventim is the most technologically sophisticated ticketing platform in the world," said Live Nation president and chief executive Michael Rapino.

Rapino pointed to a transfer of the ticketing reigns on January 1st, 2009.  The shift allows greater control over the concert attendee, and opens a number of new possibilities.  "Live Nation will use its most important asset, the concert ticket, to build artist careers and customer relationships, forge innovative sponsorship deals, create a fan and artist-friendly secondary ticketing platform and provide a ticketing alternative for third-party venues," Rapino promised.  Now, the group has just one year to implement that far-reaching vision.
