Upcoming Usher Album Starts Leaking

Usher's upcoming album, Here I Stand, is now leaking online ahead of its scheduled release date.  On mininova.org, the most heavily-trafficked BitTorrent tracking destination, several versions of the album are posted and available for download.  That includes a high-fidelity, 320kbps-encoded version with bonus content, metadata, and an accompanying video.  Songs within the album are available as MP3s, a longtime standard on free networks and an increasingly-common format within paid channels.

The situation was tipped to Digital Music News late Thursday, making it difficult to connect with executives at label group Sony BMG.  Additionally, it remains unclear how long the album has been available online, though the first complete versions appeared on Mininova on May 20th.

Just last month, Usher label LaFace/Zomba moved the album release date to May 27th, from June previously.  That is next Tuesday, though the album hits British stores one day earlier.  It remains unclear if Sony BMG will now rush-release the album, though a long, Memorial Day weekend could make the effort difficult.   The album features guest appearances by Jay-Z, Beyonce, will.i.am, Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy, and Jermaine Dupri.
