While Supreme Court Justices mull the issues presented in MGM v. Grokster, the industry debate continues.
This Wednesday, May 4th, those in the Los Angeles area can witness a debate between voices on both sides of the topic, with the Los Angeles Chapter of the Federalist Soceity playing host. Specifically, the debate will feature Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) anti-piracy leader John Malcolm, and Distributed Computing Industry Association (DCIA) chief Marty Lafferty. The event is scheduled for 6:30 PM at the offices of Loeb & Loeb, 10100 Santa Monica Boulevard, Suite 2200. A Supreme Court decision on the issue is expected this summer.
