Media-focused social networking destination Imeem has now finalized a content negotiation with MTV Networks, according to information issued Tuesday.
The deal will integrate clips from a number of MTV Networks properties, including Comedy Central, MTV, and VH1. That content is viewable on-demand, and can be shared throughout the network under an ad-supported model.
Discussing the tie-up, a company executive pointed to a “comprehensive amount” of MTV programming that includes The Hills, The Daily Show and The Colbert Report. The announcement follows earlier Imeem deals involving NBC and Showtime, part of a far broader licensing initiative. Just recently, Imeem successfully finalized deals with all four major labels, a move that eliminated a serious legal threat but reportedly involved heavy upfront payments and onerous deal terms.
