Spotify Beware: Grooveshark Testing Its Own iPhone App

major label lawsuit, Grooveshark is still pressing ahead with an iPhone app.  Grooveshark vice president Josh Bonnain tipped Digital Music News to the app on Thursday evening, and offered a pre-release version ahead of an Apple approval.

The news closely follows a similar development by Spotify, and both companies are now knocking with cloud-based mobile music concepts.  That could present serious competition to the iTunes Store, and uncertainty surrounds the approval process on both.  On top of that, Grooveshark introduces some thorny legal issues, something Apple could shy away from.
