Exclusive: Slicethepie Executive Changes Ahead

Fan-powered Slicethepie is now preparing a few executive changes, according to details confirmed to Digital Music News over the weekend.

Jonathan Bunis will assume stripes as COO and Strategic Development Director, while Travis Baxter will become Director with a strategic focus on Radio and Broadcasting.  An official announcement is slated for Tuesday.

The moves are designed to push the fan-financed artist model forward, and beef up analytical components of the business.  The analytical components are wrapped into the wholly-owned SoundOut, designed to give artists and labels tangible fan feedback on their campaigns (among other data-intensive feedback components).

The moves also follow a successful graduation of Slicethepie-powered Scars on 45, which recently inked a deal with Atlantic Records in the US.

So who are these guys?  Bunis was formerly CEO of Cellectivity and President and COO of Espotting  (sold to MIVA), while Baxter hails from several major broadcasters, including the BBC.   “Jonathan’s operational and extensive search expertise combined with Travis’ deep experience in the dynamics of the radio industry are a potent combination that will enable us to deliver a uniquely valuable service to independent and established artists and labels,” said Slicethepie CEO David Courtier-Dutton.
