If You Slow Down a Recording of Crickets, It Sounds Just Like a Human Choir…

The following, uploading by composer Jim Wilson, features two tracks of crickets: one at normal speed, and the other dramatically slowed down.

But is it authentic?  Wilson created the nature-style chopped-and-screwed, though people are heatedly debating whether studio trickery is at play (Wilson says there’s nothing added whatsoever).

Can’t believe you fell for this BS. Maybe your Pandora vendetta has distracted you from any semblance of actual reporting. If it ever existed.

Please share the debunking info. I haven’t been able to find a source that knows either way.

I thought it was the consensus that he slowed down several copies of the sample to different pitches to create the harmonies. Otherwise anyone would be able to easily recreate this.
