In their respective quests for world domination, both Spotify and Rdio expanded into 20 new markets each.  This brings Spotify to 55 total countries; Rdio to 51.  Deezer, meanwhile, is present in 180 countries (and counting), with a US-based expansion planned for 2014.

In these still-early days, we’re still not sure how the global streaming mix evolves.  Right now, 57 percent of Rdio’s active user base is now outside of the US, up from 37 percent at the beginning of 2013…  And regions like Scandinavia remain disproportionately skewed towards streaming.
