Tyler, the Creator isn’t the only Odd Future member that’s been having legal troubles.

We previously reported on the lawsuit Chipotle brought against Frank Ocean. Chipotle paid Frank a $212,500 advance for a cover of Willy Wonka‘s “Pure Imagination” for a commercial. Frank was upset that the final version of the commercial had a Chipotle logo, so he didn’t record the song. Chipotle sued to get their money back.

Frank Ocean then posted a picture of this check on his Tumblr:

A Chipotle spokesperson has told Rolling Stone that they did receive a check for $212,500, and have now called off the lawsuit. The check Frank Ocean sent didn’t actually say “FUCK OFF” in the memo line.

This all made Frank Ocean look like a huge jerk, but according to him Chipotle is the one at fault. Ocean’s legal team sent a letter to Chipotle saying:

“When Frank was asked to participate in this project, Chipotle’s representatives told him that the thrust of the campaign was to promote responsible farming.

There was no Chipotle reference or logo in the initial presentation, and Chipotle told Frank that was an intentional element of the campaign…

Frank was also promised that he’d have the right to approve the master and all advertising.”

if Chipotle made all those assurances then Frank Ocean should be suing for breach of contract
