Steve Reich and Philip Glass haven’t performed together in 30 years. The two minimalist composers had a falling out that they never publicly discussed. Now, they’re going to set their differences aside.

BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music) is hosting a series of events with Nonesuch Records for the label’s 50th anniversary. The events will take place from September 9th – 28th as part of the Next Wave Festival.

Steve Reich and Philip Glass will perform a three program retrospective together to open up the festival. Nico Muhly, Timo Andres, Synergy Vocals, and others will join Reich and Glass.

The Nonesuch event series features some other notable performances as well, including a triple bill with Devendra Banhart, Stephin Merritt (of The Magnetic Fields), and Iron and Wine, a  collaboration between Kronos Quartet and Laurie Anderson, and a performance from Robert Plant’s band The Sensational Space Shifters.
