Executive Shuffles: Interscope, Apple, Sony, TuneCore, Dave Herman…

John Janick is Interscope Geffen A&M‘s new Chairman and CEO. Janick is replacing Jimmy Iovine, who is leaving for an executive position at Apple.

Sony Corporation is shaking things up:

  • Nicole Seligman has been promoted. Seligman was previously Sony’s Executive Vice President, General Counsel, Corporate Executive Officer. Now, she is President of the U.S. based Sony Entertainment. Seligman was also named Senior Legal Counsel of Sony Group.
  • Alex Sancaya has been promoted to Managing Director of Sony Music Entertainment Indonesia. Sancaya was named acting managing director in October, 2013.

TuneCore has promoted current President Scott Ackerman, making him CEO. Ackerman has been running the company since co-founders Jeff Price and Peter Wells were booted.

In other news…

Former radio DJ Dave Herman has died. In the 1960s and 70s he was one of the first freeform rock DJs on FM radio.

Herman was in jail, awaiting charges after allegedly trying to transport a 7 year old to the U.S. Virgin Islands for sex. Herman had chest pain, and then died in the hospital. No cause of death has been given.
