German mass media company ProSiebenSat.1 Media AG has taken a stake in Deezer, reports Die Welt. The amount of the investment has not been made public, but it is less than 50 percent.

ProSiebenSat.1 has also merged their streaming service, AMPYA, with Deezer. AMPYA includes both music and editorial content. For now, their unique platform will stay intact.

Deezer will take over AMPYA’s current deal with Vodafone in Germany.

Deezer Europe’s Vice President Gerrit Schumann says: “With the reach of the ProSiebenSat.1 Group we will be allowing an even larger audience unlimited access to our music catalogue.

AMPYA’s Managing Director Michael Krause will become Managing Director of Deezer in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
