Omid Kordestani recently became interim Chief Business Officer of Google. Now Kordestani is joining Spotify‘s board, according to re/code. Their sources also say that Shishir Mehrotra, YouTube‘s former Vice President of Product, Engineering, and UX, will be special adviser to Daniel Ek and Spotify’s management.
Baboom, Kim Dotcom’s music service, has hired Tony Smith as CFO. Smith was previously Director of Finance at Sony Australia and New Zealand.
Def Jam Recordings has promoted Mundo Garcia to West Coast Regional Manager, according to All Access. Garcia was previously East Coast promotion assistant.

What’s even funnier is that YouTube boss Susan Wojcicki has “expressed interest in aquiring” Spotify “if it were for sale”, according to MusicAlly.
Imagine that — the world’s two most hated music industry corporations becoming one. What could possibly go wrong… 🙂
