The Spotify IPO speculation has died down a bit, but Spotify recently re-posted a job opening that originally fueled IPO rumors. The job posting says Spotify is searching for an External Reporting Specialist. Duties for this position include preparing “the company for international financial standards“.

Quartz also reports that Spotify has a job opening for a public relations professional in Tokyo, Japan.  They say the posting was up as recently as August 12th, but it has since been removed.  The posting was actually up for 252 days, according to LinkedIn, so it went unnoticed for a long time.

A Spotify spokesperson said the company is still looking to fill the position.  Spotify hasn’t officially moved into Japan yet, but it looks like they are definitely planning on expanding.

Japan was the second largest music market in 2013.

We urgently need them in Japan.
This will propel shrinkage of global music revenues and possibly will activate head chopping at RIAA, IFPI and labels all fascinated with Mr. Ek the savior.
