Blogging platform Medium is getting ready to launch a digital music magazine.
Re/code says the magazine will launch in September.
Jonathan Shecter, co-founder of The Source, will be the magazine’s editor. Robert Christgau will review albums. Shecter told Re/code:
“There is a loyal group of people that both love music and have the desire to explore their love of that music — to read about it, to talk about it. We’ll find them.”
Medium recently launched an online magazine called Matter, a sports publication called The Cauldron, and hired Steven Levy to start a tech publication.
Medium was started by Twitter Co-Founder Evan Williams. It is part of a new breed of blogging platforms that are simple and easy to use (Ghost is another).
