Australian on-demand streaming service Songl only launched about a year and a half ago. Now, Songl is shutting down.
Songl was a joint venture between Sony Music, Universal Music, and broadcast media company Southern Cross Austereo. In a statement, SCA said:
“…all stakeholders have moved their focus from this service into other music and content-based commitments that will enable each stakeholder to diversify their offering.”
Current subscribers and trial users will be migrated to the Omny app. SCA has a stake in Omny’s parent company and says the move will be “seamless”.
