The IFPI has hired Dr. David Price as Head of Anti Piracy Research and Analysis. Price was previously Director of Piracy and Counterfeit Analysis at NetNames, a brand protection company.

iHeartMedia has named Hector Marcano VP of Hispanic Operations East. Marcano has also been promoted to General Manager of WRUM/Orlando.

BMI has some changes to their Board of Directors:

  • Paul Karpowicz, President of the Meredith Local Media Group, has been elected Chairman of the Board
  • Newly elected board members are Caroline Beasley, EVP/CFO/Treasurer/Secretary of Beasley Broadcast Group, Inc. and William S. Hoffman, President of Cox Media Group.

7digital has promoted Kyle Pierce to Vice President of Music Partnerships. Previously, Pierce worked in business development and music publisher relations.

PR firm Shore Fire Media has promoted Josh Page and Alison Smith to Senior Account Executives. They were previously Junior Account Executives. Page has worked on campaigns for Sixpence None the Richer, Chevelle, and more. Smith has worked on campaigns for St. Vincent, Neko Case, and more.Viacom Entertainment and Music Groups has promoted Eddie Dalva to Executive Vice President of Content and Programming Enterprises. Dalva was previously Senior Vice President of Content.

Def Jam Recordings has promoted Bill Evans to Vice President of Urban Promotion. EVP of Urban Promotion Rodney Shealey said: “Bill is a talented and consummate music man who has served at every level of Def Jam, in multiple local and regional markets, and it is an honor to announce his extremely well-deserved promotion“.

Mercury Nashville has hired Jack Christopher as Director of Southeast Promotion. Christopher is succeeding Bruce Shindler, who is retiring at the end of the year.

SMH Records has hired John Nicholas as General Manager, reports Billboard. Nicholas left his position as Vice President of Sales at Universal Music Distribution to make the move.
