Sorry Spotify: Tidal and Deezer Add Led Zeppelin’s Catalog in Hi Def

Updated 2/25/15 12:30 PM PST: Updated to include new information from Deezer and 7digital.

In December 2013 Spotify exclusively snagged Led Zeppelin’s catalog. It looks like that deal was good for about a year.

Today the catalog went up on Beats Music, Rdio, Deezer, Rhapsody, Google Play, Xbox Music, Slacker, 7digital, Tidal, and more.

Led Zeppelin’s first six studio albums have been remastered under the direction of Jimmy Page. Tidal has these albums streaming as lossless FLAC files. Deezer also has the first six remastered albums, in addition to seven other albums. Deezer has these albums on their Deezer Elite service as FLAC files, and they also have the albums on their regular service.

Tidal’s Head of Editorial, Sveinung Rindal, says:

“We have great respect for the job that Jimmy Page and his team have done with the technical update of Led Zeppelin’s first six albums. With the highest quality in TIDAL you get a unique production quality and richness in the songs that by far cements the status this band still has today.”
