    I hope she’s okay with me saying that she’s SUPER hot, foxy, sexy whatever you wanna say. Because if she NEEDS to “be allowed” by some intangible force to even talk about sexuality, then i’m going to very directly talk about her in that regard. Even if she is as dumb and talentless as a doornail… I’d hit that.

    This reminds me of the argument posed by the spokesperson for our current generation, Ms. Taylor Swiss (AKA T-Money)
    I’m equally confused by this as I am confused by the aforementioned prophet’s lyrical statement (that was co-written by nobody I’m sure…) when she was all like “people say I stay out too late and go on too many dates”. Being that this goddess among men needs more focus groups than a new product from Apple usually receives, it’s important that she addresses these “haters” directly. You know, to show how little it bothers her.

    The main point I’m sarcastically getting to is this: Who is this post really intended for? Because like the T-Swizzle song, it seems to just be more like an argument the [manufactured] stars should be having with their parents and leaving everyone else out of it.

    She’s framing the debate herself. You can’t go out there & sing about how you need a man, & then get upset when the media treats you like you need a man. She needs to come to terms with the fact that her commercial value is her dependence on men & her sexuality. If she doesn’t want to deal with it, she ought not put it out there. And she can’t expect anyone to treat her other than how she portrays herself in her songs. No one’s stopping her from writing songs about more substantial things than “One Last Time” or “Love Me Harder,” but she’s not gonna have the same fanbase because the same people aren’t going to relate to those songs.

    It’s retarded that these girls can go out & leverage their sexuality, put feminism back decades, & then expect to be treated like Kim Gordon or something. And it’s covered by internet bloggers as if it’s some sort of meaningful discussion.

    Ariana is teaching a lot of impressionable young girls that you can be a feminist without actually being a feminist.

    I think Kim Gordon’s thoughts on Lena Del Ray apply…

    Love me some Ariana I really do but let’s keep it 100: She was only dating this B-Lister so she could could cross over from Nickolodean without going full-on Miley. It was brilliant move. J-Lo did thew same thing with Puffy back in the aughts and Mariah did it in the late 90’s. Crossover into adulthood and get some edgy points and corner credibility without alienating the family crowd. She did it smoother than her predecessors because there was no scandal involved with her break-up. No she’s pulling the Diana Ross/Beyonce and screaming girl power. Game peeps game. The crazy thing is that I think these machinations are more her than they are Scooter Braun. Watch this young woman, she’s a comer.

    To what degree to you think young pop stars are able to avoid attention on their sexuality and still achieve mainstream success with label help?

      You can’t have your cake & eat it, too. You can’t cash the checks & then complain about the fallout. Whether she’s in control of her image or not is completely irrelevant, she’s going along with it because she wants to be a superstar. The label is really only providing what the fans want, & Ariana wants those fans. Do you really think she had a huge problem in the studio recording One Last Time? Doubt it.

      I mean if she wants to change the way she’s treated by the media, she can put out a record of Spice Girls covers & the press will probably tone it down. But it starts there, with the image she’s portraying of herself. The idea that she should just be able to do & sing about whatever she wants & be above criticism or inquiry is retarded, but is fundamental to this gen-y pseudo-feminism movement.
