Are Donald Trump and Kanye West really such ‘old friends‘? Here’s what Trump remarked about Kim Kardashian, just one year after she started dating the rapper.
The Howard Stern Show. February, 2013:
Howard Stern: Is Kim Kardashian really a beauty, or are we not being honest and saying her body isn’t that great. That ass is way too fucking big. Go ahead.
Donald Trump: You know, I have problems with all these people. Because they’re so nice to me. Like Kim was on the ‘Apprentice’, she came onto the ‘Apprentice’. And —
Stern: Understood. But I’m talking as a physical beauty.
Donald Trump: Now. Okay, let’s pretend it’s not Kim —
Trump: Does she have a good body? No.
Stern: Of course!
Trump: Does she have a fat ass? Absolutely.
Robyn Quivers: [laughing]
Stern: In other words —
Trump: And if it weren’t Kim, they’d say, ‘Wow, I don’t want to go out with her. That girl’s got a terrible body.”
Stern: So what is the appeal —
Robyn: — yeah, what’s the appeal? How did she become ‘Kim’?
Stern: Mr. Trump, what is the appeal there?
Trump: I don’t know.
But wait: there’s more!
Turns out Trump stepped up the criticism during Kim Kardashian’s pregnancy. Of course, the father in this case would be Kanye West. “She’s a nice person. I’ve known her over the years. She’s really a nice person,” Trump sold Showbiz Tonight.
“She’s gotten a little bit large. I would say this, I don’t think you should dress like you weigh 120 pounds.”
Separately, West tweeted about his unexpected meeting with Trump. While Trump described the chat as being ‘about life,’ West said he pressed on issues related to school curricula, violence in Chicago, and teacher compensation. No word on what role West would play in the Trump Administration, though Trump apparently alluded to an ‘entrepreneurial’ role of some sort.
Kardashian was a strong Hillary Clinton supporter.
