Cardi B has abruptly pulled out of the Parklife Festival in Manchester, England.
Speaking to disappointed fans on the music event’s Twitter account, organizers explained,
“We have just been notified that Cardi B will be unable to perform this weekend.”
The sudden cancelation comes a week after the Bronx rapper was forced to cancel a series of performances in the United States.
Stating that she hadn’t wanted to cancel the shows as she “loves money,’ Cardi B explained she hasn’t completely healed from her recent cosmetic surgery.
“You know, I hate canceling shows because I love money. I’m a money addict, and I get paid a lot of money, a lot of money for these shows … like I’m canceling millions of dollars in shows.”
Speaking to her fans at the Beale Street Music Festival last month about her refusal to cancel her performance, the rapper explained,
“I should have cancelled today. I shouldn’t really be performing because moving too much is gonna f—k up my lipo. But b—h, I’m still gonna get my motherf—ing money back, let’s go.”
Slamming fans who claimed she should’ve done exercise instead of plastic surgery, Cardi B responded,
“I do whatever the f—k I want with my body.
“My job as an entertainer is a 24-hour job, bro. So, no, I don’t have time to work out. And I wanted specific things that I know that no matter how much I work out, is not going to get fixed. Like my boobs, no matter how much I work out, they’re not going to lift themselves. So yeah, I have to get f—ing surgery. That’s right. All right?“
She added doctors had warned the rapper her body could “swell up” on planes should she fail to rest.
“It’s so scary that I be freaking out. Like I really be freaking out.”
In an official statement from her reps – who chose not to swear – they said,
“Cardi was overzealous in getting back to work, she didn’t take the time necessary to fully recover from her surgery.
“Her strenuous schedule has taken a toll on her body and she has been given strict doctors’ orders to pull out of the rest of her performances in May.”
Her husband, Offset, will still perform at the Parklife Festival.
