BBC
Lorna Clarke has been named as the BBC’s first Controller of Pop Music. Clarke will have responsibility for all BBC pop stations including Radio 1, Radio 1Xtra, Radio 2, Radio 6 Music, Asian Network, and others.
Sony/ATV Music Publishing
Sam Reas has been promoted to Director, A&R at Sony/ATV Music Publishing. Reas joined Sony/ATV in 2015 as Creative Assistant to Senior VP, Head of East Coast A&R Rich Christina. Last year, she was promoted to Manager, A&R.
HeadCount
HeadCount has named Peter Shapiro to the organization as board chair. The organization is a non-partisan voter registration group engaging fans through music.
Spotify
Dan Robins has departed Spotify’s Sydney-based APAC Head of Automation and Data. According to one report, Robin’s role was made redundant while on paternity leave; he joined the company in May 2017.
Canadian Music Week
Danya Dixon has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer of CMW. She has been with CMW for over 11 years and most recently served as Vice President of Programming.
Insanity Records
Insanity Records has hired Alistair Kinross as Head of A&R. The label is a joint venture between Sony Music and the Insanity Group. Kinross joins from Sony/ATV Music Publishing with ten years experience in creative and A&R roles.
AEG
AEG has promoted Jim King to CEO of European Festivals, reporting to the President of AEG Europe, Alex Hill. King has been with AEG Presents for more than a decade.
German Music Publishers Association
The German Music Publishers Association has appointed Birgit Böcher as the organization’s new Managing Director. Birgit Böcher joined in 2004 and was promoted to Deputy Managing Director just three years later.
iHeartMedia Boston
Hisham Fayed has been named Director of Marketing for iHeartMedia Boston, starting July 8. Fayed will work closely with the promotions, events, sales, and programming teams for the Boston market.
