After a TikTok exclusive clip from their latest album – BTS partners with Spotify for an enhanced album.
K-pop superstars BTS released their latest album, Map of the Soul: 7, to celebrate seven years together. The album received the largest pre-order volume of any South Korean act, with 4 million presales. It has the longest tracklist of any BTS album, featuring 15 new songs and five from the previous album.
Now fans can enjoy Map of the Soul: 7 The Enhanced Album, exclusively from Spotify.
Spotify says this is the first time an Asian group has partnered with the streaming service. BTS produced exclusive content and features for fans to enjoy only on Spotify. The exclusive content includes storylines – personal written commentary and stories behind each song. The Spotify enhanced album also includes exclusive Canvas clips – eight-second video loops on every track.
Audio messages directed to fans allow them to get to know the band members better. The band shared their favorite moments over their seven-year history in these audio messages.
They also contain the band’s hopes for what its future looks like over the next seven years. The band also personally curated a Spotify playlist that includes their favorite BTS tracks and songs they’re listening to right now. Each member of the band curated their own playlist for fans to enjoy.
Those curated lists include RM’s Heavy Rotations playlist, Jin’s GA CHI DEUL EUL LAE? playlist, J-Hope’s JAM playlist, SUGA’s Hip-Hop Replay playlist, Jimin’s JOAH? JOAH! playlist, Jungkook’s I am Listening to It Right Now playlist, and V’s Join Me playlist.
This BTS enhanced album isn’t the first time Spotify has collaborated with an artist for platform-exclusive content.
Previous enhanced album partnerships include Taylor Swift, Mariah Carey, and Tame Impala. The latest BTS album includes several collaborations, including Sia and Troye Sivan.
