Electronic music artist and prominent YouTuber Marc Rebillet is preparing to bring the first drive-in tour to the United States.
Aptly named “The Drive-In Tour 2020,” the seven-show concert series will initiate with a June 11th performance at Hound’s Drive-In in Charlotte, North Carolina. Additionally, the 31-year-old Dallas native is set to visit Kansas City, Tulsa, Fort Worth, and Houston (with two dates scheduled for each of the Texas stops) as part of the innovative effort to entertain fans.
Tickets are available to purchase presently. A one-car, two-person pass will set fans back $90 plus fees, whereas a one-car, four-person pass can be had for $165 plus fees.
Notably, while Rebillet’s concerts will mark the first stateside drive-in performances to take place amid the coronavirus crisis, several European artists, including musicians from Germany and Denmark, have already started entertaining in-car audiences.
On social media, fan reactions to Rebillet’s Drive-In Tour 2020 appear to be generally positive. “Such a cool idea!” wrote one fan, in addition to tagging several other Twitter users.
“This is literally an amazing idea. we got a few out here in Connecticut when you wanna come back,” tweeted another excited individual.
Not a few fans are eager for concerts to resume, and many artists are taking steps to (safely) deliver live entertainment. Livestreamed performances and events have become substantially more common since the domestic onset of the coronavirus crisis.
And earlier today, Digital Music News was first to report that Arkansas is planning to host the world’s first socially distanced concert later this month.
