Ticketmaster invoked the ire of the BTS Army after fans had trouble getting tickets for the Los Angeles SoFi Stadium BTS concert.
Fans took to social media to complain about faulty systems, lack of security, and ticket scalpers galore. Fans claim the system used by Ticketmaster allowed scalpers to buy up all the tickets in bulk. They also allege that priority access for fans with canceled tour tickets were broken.
On Saturday, the official Ticketmaster support account on Twitter wrote, “Due to overwhelming past purchaser & verified fan presale demand for BTS Permission to Dance on Stage – LA, all shows are sold out & tickets are not available for the public on sale.”
The ‘Permission to Dance on Stage’ tour is the first in-person BTS concerts since the pandemic started. Overwhelming fan demand for the limited dates left out a general admission sale – which was the last group to have access. The presale ticket dates for the general public was the final day of a five-day ticket availability schedule.
BTS Permission to Dance on Stage – LA SoFi Stadium Presale Ticket Dates
- October 5 – 3 pm PT – VIP purchases of Map of the Soul Tour can buy presale tickets
- October 6 – 3 pm PT – Any purchasers of Map of the Soul Tour tickets can buy presale tickets
- October 7 – 3 pm PT – BTS Fanclub Members can buy presale tickets
- October 8 – 3 pm PT – General Verified Fan presale tickets available
- October 9 – 3 pm PT – General Public tickets available on sale
But those general admission sales dates never happened due to the demand. Some BTS fans shared their frustrations trying to purchase tickets on those dates.
One fan on AllKpop.com wrote, “I fing hate TM. I had code to buy today and kept getting the error 007 for like 45 min. Tickets were VANISHING in front of my eyes. I got in to buy within 15min of opening. Finally got tickets only to be told it couldn’t process my card. All my payment info is up to date. I have never had so much trouble trying to buy before. I’m hoping to get another shot tomorrow if I get an email. If not I’m going to buy resale. This sucks. Did I say how much I hate TM.”
BTS officially postponed its Map of the Soul Tour in August 2021 “due to changing circumstances beyond our control” the announcement read. The North American leg of the tour was postponed in March 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. Rescheduled dates weren’t possible and the group decided to offer a formal cancellation to fans.
This exclusive four-date show in Los Angeles is fans’ first chance to see BTS live in two years. The K-pop group will perform four nights at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium on November 27 and November 28, December 1 and December 2.
Ppl are reselling overpriced tickets and Ticketmaster verified these resell tickets. Like, seriously? Like you havent had enough damage done to MOTS code holders.
