Tencent Music Entertainment Group has introduced the first Producers Alliance in China’s music industry.
The TME Producers Alliance is the first producer alliance in the Chinese music industry to support full-circle high-quality music production, empowering talented producers to realize their artistic and commercial value.
The TME Producers Alliance has adopted a partnership structure to integrate resources at every stage, from music production to promotion and distribution. Based on a professional content creation system and a healthy commercialization system, the TME Producers Alliance provides more opportunities for music producers and supports their career advancement and professional growth. The alliance will also connect producers with industry partners to create high-quality popular singles and maximize music exposure among music lovers.
Tencent says the producers alliance will implement financial incentives to support the career development of its producers. Around 90 talent producers from China, Malaysia, Singapore, and other regions have joined the alliance. That includes Golden Melody Awards members Chris Hou, Huang Shao Yong, and Howe Chen. The alliance is now planning several initiatives to attract more talented producers of all ages.
Going forward, TME says it will use its resources to support the growth of its producers and the creation of high-quality music. Tencent operates several music and live streaming platforms in China, including QQ Music, Kugou Music, Kuwo Music, and WeSing. The TME platform consists of online music, online audio, online karaoke, music-centric live streaming, and online concert services.
Tencent has launched several new business initiatives this year to help develop its music businesses. It’s also launching TME Business Intelligence for Artists to provide its partners with services that enable music labels and artists to access real-time data on the platform. Think Spotify for Artists for the Tencent Music ecosystem.
TME BI for Artists updates data 150 times a day by data mining across its multiple platforms. The dashboard features various modules, including data overview, artist overview, song performance, digital album analysis, and more. Tencent hopes the feature will give local artists a better understanding of their audiences.
