A unique NFT group released with the blessing of the Bowie Estate, ‘Bowie on the Blockchain,’ comes to OpenSea on September 13.

David Bowie’s timeless influence is about to leave its mark on yet another frontier. The David Bowie Estate has announced it will unveil its “Bowie on the Blockchain” NFT collection on September 13 in partnership with OpenSea. The collection is also the result of We Love the Arts, a new web3 venture from creative executive and artist manager Andrew D. Keller. Also associated isyou’ film producer Joaquin Acrich, bringing together nine leading artists in the NFT space.

Each artist involved in the “Bowie on the Blockchain” collection has created a unique homage to David Bowie and his influence on their artistic identities. The special group-NFT sale will feature Bowie-inspired original works by Defaced, FEWOCiOUS, Glam Beckett, JAKE, Jonathan Wolfe, Lirona, PussyRiot’s Nadia Tolokonnikova, Osinachi, and Young & Slick.

“David Bowie’s artistry has had an indescribable impact on my life. I’m truly honored to have had the privilege of guiding this project,” says Andrew Keller, co-founder of We Love the Arts.

“This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to engage with the Bowie Estate as well as this group of artists, all of whom I have immense respect for. I hope that this collection we have created simultaneously serves to record the ethos of Bowie on the Blockchain, as well as spotlight a wildly talented group of artists and an exciting new space for the arts.”

David Bowie is an icon and a trailblazer in every way, and we’re honored to partner with his team to bring his legacy into web3,” says Ryan Foutty, VP of Business Development at OpenSea. “This incredible collection brings together some of the most groundbreaking NFT artists with Bowie artifacts to bring a new generation of fans together in web3.”

All proceeds to the Bowie Estate through the NFT collection will benefit humanitarian organization CARE, for which Bowie’s widow Iman serves as Global Advocate.
