The ASCAP Foundation and the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts have announced the inaugural ASCAP Foundation Musical Theatre Fest.

The two-week, in-person event series held at The Wallis in Beverly Hills will give emerging musical theatre composers a chance to learn from the industry’s leading lights. Week 1 (July 11-13) will present panels exploring the future of the musical theatre industry, focusing on the intersection of Hollywood and musical theatre.

The ASCAP Foundation/Universal Theatrical Group (UTG) Musical Theatre Workshop returns for week 2 (July 17-20) with celebrated artistic director Stephen Schwartz. Each panel is designed to answer questions upcoming musical theater composers may have about the industry, while providing valuable insight into the behind-the-scenes development of musicals.
