Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler receives ‘strict doctor’s orders not to sing’ for the next 30 days after damaging his vocal cords, leading to a rescheduled six dates on the band’s farewell tour.
Aerosmith will have to postpone tour dates in six cities after Saturday’s concert left frontman Steven Tyler with vocal cord damage and under strict doctor’s orders not to sing for the next 30 days. The band played the first three shows of their Peace Out farewell tour, but the remaining September dates have been rescheduled to January and February.
“I’m heartbroken to say I have received strict doctor’s orders not to sing for the next 30 days. I sustained vocal cord damage during Saturday’s show that led to subsequent bleeding,” reads the statement from Tyler on the band’s website. “We’ll need to postpone a few dates so that we can come back and give you the performance you deserve.”
The rescheduled dates affect shows in Detroit, Chicago, Washington, DC, Toronto, Raleigh, and Cleveland:

All previously purchased tickets will be honored for the rescheduled dates, and refunds will be available to those unable to attend. Ticketholders with any questions about refunds are asked to reach out to their point of purchase.
