Warner Chappell Music and WCM Colombia have renewed their publishing deal with producer CASTA in partnership with BorderKid Publishing.

CASTA co-produced the 23x multi-platinum hit “MAMIII,” as well as Manuel Turizo’s “La Bachata,” which has joined the one billion streams club. Luis Miguel Gómez Castaño, also known as CASTA, was born in Manizales, Colombia, where he learned to play the piano at three years old.

At the beginning of his career, he was a musical director for various artists in Colombia and Manuel Medrano. He also worked as a producer for The Voice USA for two years before moving to Medellín in 2020 to become a full-time producer and composer for mainstream acts, including Karol G, Manuel Turizo, Becky G, Ricky Martin, Maluma, Ozuna, Zion y Lennox, Aitana, Arcangel, Yandel, Carin Leon, and Justin Quiles, among others.

In 2022, he was part of two key Latin tracks, including Becky G and Karol G’s “MAMIII” and Manuel Turizo’s “La Bachata,” co-written by Edgar Barrera. “MAMIII” earned Becky G her highest-charting single on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and took home several Song of the Year awards.

“I’m thrilled to continue working alongside Warner Chappell and to now also add BorderKid to the equation,” adds CASTA about the renewal. “Edgar has been a huge support and inspiration to me. With this team backing me, I will keep on working to reinvent my music and collaborate with rising talent.”

“CASTA is the epitome of musicianship and true talent,” adds Gustavo Menéndez, President, U.S. Latin & Latin America, WCM. “He’s a creative powerhouse that has captivated millions with his signature sound and legendary hits. We’re honored that he’s continuing to trust us as his publishing home and excited to work with Edgar and his BorderKid Publishing team.”

“Adding CASTA to my BorderKid Publishing and management team has been a great achievement,” says Edgar Barrera, Founder of BorderKid Publishing. “He has all the qualities we’re looking for—he’s creative, talented, and has a great work ethic and an amazing energy. We’re very honored that he has chosen us.”
