The IFPI has announced the launch of four new charts in the MENA region—Egypt, Saudi Arabia, UAE, and North Africa. Here’s the latest.

In addition to the official MENA regional chart, the four new charts will be the Official Egypt Chart, Official Saudi Arabia Chart, Official UAE Chart, and Official North Africa Chart. In each country, this is the first time ever that official rankings are being made available. IFPI says it will share each of the four markets charts weekly, updating on Wednesday.

The new charts benefit from IFPI’s world-leading charts methodology and include streaming data from all the major digital streaming providers (DSPs) in the region including Anghami, Apple Music, Deezer, Spotify, and YouTube. The charts are prepared by BMAT.

The IFPI released its first official regional chart for the MENA region in November 2022, capturing data from 13 markets and covering more than 300 million people. These new charts reflect the continued growth across the entire region with recorded music revenues rising 23.8% in 2022.

“We are very pleased to be expanding the official MENA chart to show for the first time the top hits in Egypt, North Africa, Saudi Arabia, and UAE,” adds Frances Moore, IFPI CEO. “Each of these countries have their own unique music heritage, and the MENA region continues to grow strongly thanks to the breadth and diversity of talent, and through investments by record labels. These new charts are a platform to celebrate and showcase this diversity.”
