Billie Eilish is the third artist and youngest ever to reach 100 million monthly listeners on Spotify, closing in on Taylor Swift’s follower ranking.

Billie Eilish is breaking records and taking names, becoming only the third artist to surpass 100 million monthly listeners on Spotify. Not only is she the youngest artist to achieve this feat, but she did it with less than half the number of songs in her catalog as The Weeknd and Taylor Swift, the two artists who precede her.

The 22-year-old Eilish ranks behind only The Weeknd, who has 106.6 million monthly listeners, and Taylor Swift, who has 101.6 million. But both artists have more than double the songs in their respective Spotify catalogs as Billie Eilish, who has just 82 tracks. Further, Billie Eilish is already pulling in 101.1 million monthly listeners — rapidly closing in on Swift’s count. Ed Sheeran was the first artist to cross the threshold, but his monthly listeners have fallen to around 66 million since achieving the feat in 2022.

“Spotify has been a part of Billie’s story from the start. Ever since ‘ocean eyes,’ she has continuously grown her fan base around the world,” says Jeremy Erlich, Spotify’s Global Head of Music, in a statement to Billboard. “What she and [her brother and producer] Finneas have achieved since 2016 is quite remarkable — and all this by the age of 22.”

Eilish currently has eight songs in Spotify’s coveted Billions Club playlist: “lovely” with Khalid (2.8 million streams), “bad guy” (2.5 million streams), “when the party’s over” (1.8 million streams), “everything I wanted” (1.6 million streams), “ocean eyes” (1.4 million streams), “Happier Than Ever” (1.3 million streams), “idontwannabeyouanymore” (1.09 million streams), and “bury a friend” (1.01 million streams).

Her third studio album, Hit Me Hard and Soft, released just last month, debuting at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart. All 10 tracks from the album also debuted in the Top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100. The star also recently became the youngest two-time Oscar winner for her song from the Barbie film soundtrack, “What Was I Made For?”
