Verizon Wireless has recently forged a full-track, OTA (over-the-air) download deal with Wind-Up Records, according to a joint announcement issued Monday.

The deal covers the entire Wind-Up catalog, including tracks from  Creed, Evanescence, Seether, Finger Eleven, Drowning Pool and Scott Stapp.  The additions come long after agreements involving all four major labels and a broad number of independents, though Verizon could use the late addition to perk consumer interest.  Meanwhile, the catalog boosts the broader Verizon OTA catalog to 1.9 million, a collection that includes a considerable amount of independent content.

Alongside the announcement, Verizon Wireless also pointed to an existing catalog of Wind-Up ringtones and ringback tones.  “The addition of full-track over-the-air music downloads from Wind-Up’s independent artists once again demonstrates that Verizon Wireless is meeting the needs of our customers that have a diverse set of musical interests,” said Ed Ruth, associate director of marketing at Verizon Wireless.  Verizon offers full-track downloads for $1.99, though consumers can purchase the same tracks from a Verizon-powered internet store for 99-cents.
