FREE. It’s a term we toss around every day, yet the word is ultimately a misnomer.

For starters, even ‘free’ Spotify users or file-swappers are paying for access, it’s just that ISPs typically control the tollbooth.  But even beyond that discussion, ‘freeloaders’ are paying with their time, even if everything feels like free.  And ‘time’ often means ‘hassle,’ as in the hassle of searching, sifting, organizing, or even dealing with things like viruses and pop-up ads.
