Brian Roberts has been appointed  EVP and COO of ASCAP. Roberts was previously EVP of Corporate Strategy & Operations at Warner Music Group. In his new role Roberts “will be responsible for the royalty payment system for over 525,000 ASCAP members and will oversee ASCAP’s worldwide infrastructure including Distribution and Repertory, Information Systems, Facilities and the Economist’s Office.”

Stu Bergen, International Recorded Music President of Warner Music Group, will now oversee WEA as well. Mike Jbarra, President of ADA, will become EVP of Technology & Business Processes. The moves were made to compensate for Brian Roberts’ departure to ASCAP.

Simon Rattle has been named Music Director of the London Symphony Orchestra, starting in 2017. Rattle is currently Director of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra.
