Warner/Chappell Music Opens a Brand-New Studio In London

Warner/Chappell Music has announced it is opening a new recording studio at its London offices in Kensington.

Warner/Chappell producers and songwriters will be able to use these studios at no charge.

The studio is called The Chappell, and it already played host to an unnamed global superstar just last week.  According to an email to DMN this morning,  a host of A-list writers and artists are prepping to use the new studio over the coming weeks.

Managing Director of Warner/Chappell Music UK, Mike Smith, was thrilled about the new studio announcement.

“Having songwriters and artists being creative in the office every day brings us much closer to what we are about as a business,” Smith shared.  “We now have the best recording facilities of any music publisher in London and in addition to individual recording sessions, we are staging songwriting camps for artists and labels in our building.”

Warner/Chappell says the new studio contains the best contemporary recording equipment.  That includes Apple hardware and software, Genelec speakers and a UAD Apollo 8 Quad Thunderbolt audio interface, as well as a wide variety of instruments for musicians and artists.

Warner/Chappell has recording studios available in Los Angeles, Nashville, New York, and Stockholm.

Each office offers free creative space for singers and songwriters to collaborate with each other.  The new studio in London seems like part of a broader effort to reach out to the rest of the UK and Europe.

Warner/Chappell recently announced Rich Robinson would move up to Executive Vice President of Sync and Creative Services at the company.  Robinson moved across from Warner Music where he served as the Senior Vice President of Sync for the UK and Europe.

As the publishing arm of Warner Music, Warner/Chappell is aiming to build new relationships with artists “to add value to songwriters’ careers at all stages.”
