Howard Stern took shots at Joe Rogan for discussing his unorthodox COVID-19 treatment and resistance to vaccinations.
The shock jock spoke with his co-host Robin Quivers about his own backlash. Stern publicly stated he believed COVID-19 vaccines should be mandatory. At one point in the rant, Stern mocked anti-vaxxers who accuse people of ‘worshipping’ Dr. Anthony Fauci while taking ivermectin – a horse dewormer.
Joe Rogan has famously taken an anti-vaccine stance since the pandemic started. He recently came down with COVID-19, admitting he took ivermectin and several other treatments, including monoclonal antibodies and a nasal drip.
“I heard Joe Rogan was saying ‘what are you busting my balls [for]? I took horse de-wormer, and a doctor gave it to me.’ Well a doctor would also give you a vaccine, so why take horse-dewormer?” Stern asked rhetorically. Stern went on to mock anti-vaxxers who end up on a ventilator.
“There’s never been one that said ‘I’m so glad I refused. I’m so happy that I can’t breathe. This is a wonderful way to die, it was worth it because I didn’t take the vaccine,” the shock jock commented. Stern suggested those who are sick with COVID-19 shouldn’t even seek treatment from the hospital.
“We have no time for idiots in this country anymore,” Stern says. “We don’t want you. We want you all to either go to the hospital, stay home, die there with your COVID. Don’t take the cure, but don’t clog up our hospitals with your COVID when you finally get it. Stay home, don’t bother with science, it’s too late. Go f*ck yourself; we just don’t have time for you.”
Joe Rogan has drawn criticism from other people than Howard Stern for his comments.
On a recent episode of ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’ he called people trying to enforce vaccine requirements dumb. “They don’t understand history; they don’t understand human beings, they don’t understand human nature. They don’t understand the history of every single country that’s ever existed other than the United States,” Rogan said.
Thankfully, Rogan’s guests have had the prescience to call out uninformed statements. “I’m not gonna sit here with no medical degree listening to you with no medical degree, with an American flag behind you smoking a cigar, acting like we know what’s up better than the CDC,” Bill Burr told Rogan when he appeared on the podcast.
