Meet Hoang, an Asian American electronic music producer and DJ who has made a name for himself by creating music that speaks to the heart. His songs blend various genres, creating a unique sound that captivates audiences worldwide. Hoang has been a songwriter and producer since he was eight years old and is classically trained in piano. He writes music that captures moments in life, reflecting on his experiences through nostalgia. Hoang has accomplished notable career highlights, such as accumulating over 100+ million collective streams since his electronic pop debut “Don’t Say,” featuring acclaimed vocalist Nevve. The multi-talented artist has released a handful of hit records over the last few years, such as “Million Days,” “Run Back to You,” “Hard Part’s Over,” and “People Change” with superstar vocalist RUNN.
Aside from writing records, Hoang has supported Elephante on a 15-city stop tour across the USA and sold out multiple venues for his headline shows in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Minneapolis.
Hoang has performed at notable venues, including the Hollywood Palladium (LA), Bill Graham Civic (SF), Stereolive (Dallas/Houston), Webster Hall (NYC), and Showbox Theatre (Seattle).
Like many artists, Hoang’s journey to success was not without its challenges. He often faced anxiety when taking on projects of massive scale; however, he worked on overcoming made-up negative thoughts and perceptions of people about his work. While doing this, he learned the value of taking action and pursuing the things that excite him.
“In retrospect, I was keen about making something worthwhile of being an artist. Therefore, in the same year, 2017, I decided to push my limit and give it my all, as I did for other aspects of my life. At the time, I was working a day-to-day sales job that I dreaded showing up for.”
Hoang’s passion for music has given him a purpose and direction in life. It has allowed him to express himself creatively and connect with his fans on a deeper level. “Music has always been a medium to escape reality and enter a more expressive world,” he says.
In the coming years, Hoang aspires to continually pursue his passion by making music and play shows that express his life experiences in a more practicable and relatable way.
He also wants to create a platform to help other artists grow in the scene. As an Asian American artist in the electronic music scene, Hoang intends to change the status quo and inspire more representation within the industry.
Hoang hopes to inspire others to find their purpose and pursue their passions through his music. He wants to share his lessons along the way and encourage others to take action on their dreams. “Take the time to think of the things that give you excitement and take action on these emotions accordingly,” he admonishes.
