Being able to make a stable income from music is harder today than ever. With so many players releasing music to streaming platforms on the daily, you have to stand out to survive.
Ascend Agency is working with Digital Music News to create opportunities for artists to be visible to the music industry.
It’s even more difficult when you don’t have the budget or a backing from a label as an independent artist. One talent who has broken through those barriers is the hip hop rap artist Stackboi Tank.
From the Eastside of Detroit, Michigan, the looming star was born into a family that made sure he and his brothers had everything they needed. Growing up he spent a lot of time around music and fell in love with the art form from his dad and uncle listening to it all day everyday. That love for music eventually grew into a passion and dream to create music. Stackboi Tank began to act on his passion in high school and started recording and producing music of his own as a Freshman.
It was a long time in the making, but Stackboi Tank finally made his debut on streaming platforms back in 2017 dropping a collaboration album with Stackboi Ty titled “Road Life.”
His original project introduced music fans to a new hungry artist with bars to be heard and the determination to motivate a new generation of hustlers.
Stackboi Tank humbly said in an interview, “My greatest achievement so far was just hitting 100,000 views. That’s cool for me knowing I come from nothing.”
The artist knows he’ll attract plenty more views than just that to come. Tank has worked hard for everything he’s accomplished and has put himself in a prime position to succeed in the future. The success though didn’t come without the challenges. Stackboi Tank spent time locked up away from his family and kids and not being there for them really bothered him. An unfortunate scenario, but once the artist got out, it made him go that much harder.
2023 marks Stackboi Tank’s 6th year since the drop of his debut project and he’s still making plays. After a short hiatus in 2022, the rapper says he will be consistent and release more music this year. He plans to continue sharing a bunch of singles before even thinking about getting an album ready. Stackboi Tank still has a lot of gas left in the tank and plenty of fire music to be heard. He’s an artist that you should sure have on your radar this year and going forward.
