The metaverse, a term coined by Neal Stephenson in his 1992 novel, Snow Crash, refers to a network of interconnected virtual reality worlds. In recent years, people have been talking about the idea of this type of world as more than just an entertainment medium.
Ascend Agency is working with Digital Music News to create opportunities for artists to be visible to the music industry.
It is increasingly being seen as a way for people to live their lives with fewer restrictions and barriers in terms of finance and access. For others, such as artists and musicians, the metaverse represents the dream of a future without exploitation.
Artists have always been at the forefront of innovation, and with more people embracing this new shift, it is no surprise that they are among those leading the charge.
Miami-born Orlando-based hip-hop star Kid Faze is one musician who has tapped into that sentiment. If you ask Kid Faze what the future of music looks like, he’ll tell you that it’s the metaverse. With the world advancing from the digital age to the augmented and virtual reality era, the artist wants to be a trailblazer in this new landscape.
Kid Faze has been working on ways to integrate his art with other industries such as fashion and film for some time. He believes that he needs to stay ahead of technology to ensure his art lasts for generations to come. That’s why he started exploring virtual reality as a way to share his experience with people around the world.
Kid Faze’s success as an artist has been from staying true to his music and not following trends or the expectations of others.
His journey began in childhood. Kid Faze made his first song while still in elementary school and sold his first album in middle school. By the time he got to college, he was a skilled artist capable of making a living from his music. However, Kid Faze originally studied engineering at UCF before making a professional about-turn and returning to music. He knew that his heart was in music, and he had to treat it as a business. In preparation, he switched to studying business, music, creative writing, film production, and script writing to fulfill his dream.
A few years later, the artist started recording music and began his professional career as a musician. He drew inspiration from his uncle, who is a rapper, and legends like Lil Wayne, Kanye West, and Diddy, who have dominated the industry for years. Kid Faze studied their techniques and created a unique style of music that represents what he wants to see in the world. The hip-hop star feels the world is too dark, so he wants to bring happiness back to music. His mission is harnessing his creativity, taking his art to a higher level, and impacting the world in his lifetime and beyond.
After realizing the world is embracing technology and the digital world, Kid Faze created a metaverse persona, “Kiddo Boy”. The goal is to develop “Kiddo Boy” to be a character that can be transferable to film, with a storyline geared toward the youth. Kid Faze has already started the process and is currently designing an app and YouTube series based on “Kiddo Boy”. He’s also putting together a festival merging music and the metaverse for 2023.
