Colombian pop star Karol G has signed with Interscope Records, keeping her catalog under the UMG umbrella.

“Karol G is without a doubt one of the most powerful, creative and dynamic artists in the world,” adds Interscope CEO John Janick about the deal. “We are thrilled to welcome her into the IGA family and look forward to working with her and her team on the next phase of her incredible career.”

She joins several other hugely popular musicians including Lana Del Rey, Lady Gaga, Selena Gomez, and Billie Eilish. Karol G has generated nearly 80 billion global music streams with her hits including “Provenza,” “TQG,” “Mamiii,” “Bichota,” and “Tusa” with Nicki Minaj. She’s capable of selling out stadium tours and will have her first chance to do so in the United States later this year.

Karol G released her album Mañana Será Bonita in February 2023. Under her previous label Universal Music Latino she released Unstoppable in 2017, Ocean in 2019, and KG0516 in 2021. Mañana Será Bonita was the first Spanish-language album to top the Billboard 200 album chart. She’s set to embark on her first-ever stadium tour in the United States later this summer, kicking off in August.

“Our partnership with Karol and her team dates back to the beginning of her career, and it has been a thrilling journey filled with incredible music,” adds UMG Chairman and CEO Lucian Grainge. “She is simply one of the most exciting artists in popular music today and we’re honored she has chosen to deepen her partnership with UMG for many more years to come.”
