Following sexual harassment allegations from former dancers, Lizzo is said to be out of the running for the Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show.

Allegations from several dancers surfaced in a court filing earlier this month that revealed lurid details. The pop star has positioned herself as a body-positive activist, but former dancers allege she’s anything but. Crystal Williams, Noelle Rodriguez, and Arianna Davis filed a lawsuit alleging the singer facilitated a hostile work environment before eventually firing the three dancers.

An NFL insider tells DailyMail.com that the lawsuit and subsequent backlash to details revealed online have taken Lizzo’s name out of the hat for consideration. She was previously considered a front-runner to perform for the 2024 Super Bowl Halftime Show.

“If she speaks out, her statements are shredded. If she stays quiet, she is called a coward. Either way, it does not appear at this moment that she can recover from this,” the NFL source relayed. Lizzo has spoken out—taking to Twitter to refute many of the details in the lawsuit.

“These sensationalized stories are coming from former employees who have already publicly admitted that they were told their behavior on tour was inappropriate and unprofessional,” the singer begins in her statement addressing the lawsuit. “As an artist I have always been very passionate about what I do. I tak emy music and my performances seriously because at the end of the day I only want to put out the best art that represents me and my fans.”

“With passion comes hard work and high standards. Sometimes I have to make hard decisions but it’s never my intention to make anyone feel uncomfortable or like they aren’t valued as an important part of the team.”

Soon after her statement on social media, the former dancers appeared on Good Morning America. “I’m honestly mind blown at the hypocrisy just of everything that you stand for. You’re contradicting right before our very eyes,” Williams said, adding that she felt disappointed that Lizzo provided no acknowledgment of how the dancers felt “when her brand is to preach about women empowerment.”
