To celebrate the hip-hop legacy of The Notorious B.I.G., Warner Music Group and The Sandbox release a unique ‘90s-inspired video game experience, ‘Breakin’ B.I.G.’

Warner Music Group, together with decentralized virtual gaming world and Animoca Brands subsidiary The Sandbox, has announced the launch of a unique video game experience for hip-hop fans. “Breakin’ B.I.G.” is a nod to the side-scrolling video games of the ‘90s, immersing players in a neighborhood where The Notorious B.I.G. reigns supreme.

The game celebrates the era when Biggie rose to hip-hop dominance, bringing homages to his Brooklyn roots to today’s music fans in a new way. Set to launch in December are several activities in the “Breakin’ B.I.G.” experience, with an exclusive avatar collection and a freshly revamped Warner Music Group social hub.

Players assume the role of an aspiring rapper with deep admiration for Biggie, engaging with him and other notable characters to complete quests to earn his respect and make it big in the music industry. Using a music-infused backdrop of 1990s Brooklyn, players will revitalize Brooklyn neighborhoods, confront those who dare to challenge Biggie’s influence, and assist the hip-hop legend in achieving even greater success.

Last year, WMG announced a partnership to create the first music-themed world within The Sandbox, featuring Sueco and his “Split Personalities” experience, one of the top three most visited experiences on the platform in 2022. That partnership marked The Sandbox’s first deal with a major music company.
