Hot off her Coachella set, Laufey has been unveiled as the Fortnite Festival Season 14 headliner as the artist’s star keeps ascending.
It’s been a busy year for Laufey. The Grammy-winning artist just played Coachella, and that’s on top of a major Lexus tie-up concert on Amazon Music/Twitch. Now, the Icelandic singer-songwriter has officially been unveiled as Fortnite Festival’s Season 14 headliner, following several weeks of rumors and leaks.
Epic Games revealed the collab in a new trailer that offers a sneak peek at the artist’s cosmetic outfits and other goodies. Players will be able to pick up all of it in the popular battle royale, starting today (April 16).
There’s two new skins, one of which (Lover Girl Laufey) is sold in the Item Shop, while the other (White Dress Laufey) will be unlockable in the Fortnite Music Pass. Both are also available in two different bundles, which include a bunch of other cosmetics and Jam Tracks. Players can grab the Mei Mei the Bunny Back Bling, a White Guitar Pickaxe, “Tough Luck,” “Lover Girl,” and “Madwoman” Jam Tracks.
Additionally, there are some new features coming to Fortnite Festival. This includes Mic Vocals that allow you to sing along in real time using any microphone that works in Fortnite on PC and consoles. Pro Drums allow you to plug in a Rock Band 4 or compatible MIDI drum kit to play along.
Players can also now walk around and change positions freely in the Jam Ring while they play. Meanwhile, the new Quick Mix UI enables you to quickly swap or shuffle tracks to make some cool mashups.
The new collaboration launches with the Fortnite Showdown Act II update. That means the Laufey skins are being added to the game early in the morning instead of the usual late afternoon refresh.
The timing couldn’t be better, with Laufey’s star-studded “Madwoman” music video having dropped earlier this week, just after her Coachella set over the weekend. The video even has cameos from Olympic champion figure skater Alysa Liu and Katseye’s Megan Skiendiel.
