UMG’s GTS has inked a partnership with Telemundo for the US edition of the Spanish music competition, Operación Triunfo Estados Unidos.

Universal Music Group’s Global Talent Services (GTS) has signed a deal with Telemundo for Operación Triunfo Estados Unidos, the U.S. adaptation of the Spanish music talent competition. The agreement gives GTS first signing rights for artists who emerge from the program, as well as a role in developing their subsequent tours.

“It is a source of pride and responsibility for GTS to take part in the first edition of Operación Triunfo Estados Unidos, alongside the Telemundo network,” said Narcis Rebollo, President and CEO of GTS.

“This year, in addition, the 25th anniversary of the format is [being] celebrated, in whose development I had the opportunity to participate from its beginning, both in the field of management and in the record company, […] achieving historic results for television, the recording industry, and artistic management from Spain.”

“I want to thank Javier Pons and his team for the opportunity to be part of this first edition in the United States, as well as José María Mainat, for the trust he has always placed in my personal involvement and that of my team to lead the careers of the talent that has emerged from the format over all these years.”

“I am convinced that we will discover great promise in this first edition in the United States, and we will dedicate all our effort and professionalism to making it possible once again.”

“We are excited to join forces with GTS in the first edition of Operación Triunfo in the United States,” shared Javier Pons, Chief Content Officer & Head of Telemundo Studios.

“This alliance allows us not only to discover and train a new generation of Latin talent in the country, representative of diverse nationalities, but also to boost their careers beyond the program, giving them real opportunities for artistic development and projection in the music industry.”

Since its premiere in Spain in 2001, Operación Triunfo has established itself as a launching pad for high-impact artists, including David Bisbal, David Bustamante, Pablo López, Amaia, Aitana, Lola Índigo, Juanjo Bona, Chiara Oliver, and more. The format has been adapted in 31 countries.

GTS is Universal Music Group’s Latin artist services agency, covering booking, management, promotion, and brand deals. In 2024, it became a standalone division of UMG and acquired Spanish management company Rosa Lagarrigue Management (RLM) in 2025.
