Legendary Jazz Keyboardist George Duke passed away yesterday at 67 years old after a battle with chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
Duke was unable to make music for a while after his wife died of cancer a little over a year ago, but finally released DreamWeaver just earlier this month.
An incredible musician who will be missed.
“Talkin ’bout the anchovies…”
“Feel”, “The Aura will Prevail”, “I love the Blues, she heard my Cry”. All the albums he produced for Flora Purim & Airto.
The funky clav, the soaring mini-moog, and ARP oddesey, creamy
Rhodes. The master of so many styles, just listen to him with
Frank Zappa.
“There will never be another George Duke”
“It’s all funky up in Heaven right about now!
