The Beyonce image is now spreading into mobile, thanks to a custom-tailored Samsung device.
The aptly-titled B’Phone is essentially a retrofitted UpStage, a sleek multimedia device that sports screens on both sides. The B’Phone is being carried exclusively by Sprint, part of a larger agreement between the two companies involving the device. The limited-edition handset features a burgundy and gold motif, and presents Beyonce on the welcome screen.
The phone is designed for video and audio content, and the special-edition handsets feature exclusive Beyonce photos, videos, and a song recorded by Beyonce at age ten. The B’Phone also allows access to Sprint TV, OTA downloads from the Sprint Music Store, and support for sideloaded MP3s. “Samsung is excited to support an iconic performer like Beyonce with this new and vibrant device,” said Peter Skarzynski, senior vice president of Samsung Telecommunications America.
