Video Killed the BitTorrent Star

It’s not that file-trading or BitTorrent traffic is going anywhere, it’s just getting eclipsed by streaming video volumes.

The following breakdown and projection comes from the Cisco Visual Networking Index, as presented in a broader report by MusicTank.

One research estimate pegs music videos at nearly 40 percent of overall YouTube traffic.

So what is the breakdown of the content of those videos?

i.e. How much is music, big budget hollywood movie, streaming web cam porn?

    Many questions:

So what does one have to do as an artist to get paid for those streams? Do PROs already collect that income?

Just how much can one expect to be paid per stream?

Does one get paid for all the unauthorized uploads of one’s music, whether as bare streams or as soundtracks to someone’s homemade video?

    Inquiring minds want to know.
