And with that, here’s a list of the all-time, 30 most-viewed music videos on YouTube. Most of these videos debuted years ago, yet “Gentleman” will probably enter this elite list this week.

I think we had enough of that garbage. OK, when you have a lot of money to spend on marketing companies you can have millions and billions of YouTube views. But when your music is garbage, it will remain garbage no matter what the number of your views is. And Psy’s music is garbage, and always will. I still can’t believe that there are sites that actually promote that garbage.
Aren’t u a little sad person? Gangnam Style gets to number 1 of that list without heavy promotion. Only words of mouth and tweets.
Stop this hate against Psy. He doesn’t deserve it, he is a humble and very creative entertainer. I suggest you do a little research before bashing him.
maybe this is the future of music, no more silly, bitter “artists” and instead a bunch of psy and justin bieber wannabees trying to top the youtube charts, wouldn’t that be a nice cultural disaster.
putting psy and bieber in the same sentence and comparing both shows a cruel lack of musicology (yes, indeed) and secondly, that you can’t determine anything good or bad in this genre, and so, people like you can still exist, but should talk about what they know, not what they think or pretend to know.
Who said PSY wanted to make the best music ever… he did apparently anyways, and this is because success in music encompasses much more than just music.
You MUST have a good dance so people can dance (it is the aim of this music, techno, the tribe, it is not the effing “menuet” we talk about here).
You MUST have a great spirit and inspire happiness and life.
Otherwise, you can be a great musician, and that’s good, but you won’t move the crowds like psy, because thae crowds want to communiate, not to listen to the best three notes in music history.

Techno and dance is actually the first genre that does not use the harmonic rules of classic music. Even rock does (rock comes from classic music, ie scales (beit blues, jazz, whatever).
Techno is the first genre that takes you in the harmony inside the sound, instead of harmonies created with sounds.
It is a new world. It breaks most bridges with the past, and that’s why some people are disturbed by it, just as they would be disturbed with a new social movement that puts the past in the garbage, for exemple.
