Townsquare Media, previously MOG Music Network, has just acquired AOL’s three former music properties —The Boot, The BoomBox, and NoiseCreep — along with its comic book industry site ComicsAlliance.
The three web properties are respectively country, hip-hop, and metal music sites.
Chairman/CEO Steve Price says, “The acquisition of these assets from AOL represents the continued rapid growth of Townsquare Media’s portfolio of own and operated music…”
Townsquare is hoping that access to these music properties (and their considerable audiences) will further engage advertisers and agencies.
I hope they retain the staff as well.
